2020 – Walk in the calling you’ve received!!

The year 2020 started out seemingly normal. We all did a “chin-chin,” made our resolutions, prayed, and dreamed of the future. My husband, Kodi, always feels that every year brings a new word from God, and it consistently has. A couple years ago he felt God saying that we would experience a lot of change and basically every part of our life changed, from church, to family, close relationships, and having a new baby. The year after that, he felt the Lord saying the words “uncharted territory.” The nature of Kodi and myself is generally peaceful and pretty sensitive. We are planners and we are organized. The very idea of new is never easy for anyone. New never promises good or bad. The year after this prophetic word Kodi received from the Lord, we experienced some very unexpected heartaches, criticisms, confrontations, and postpartum blues, that forced us to grow in areas that we thought we had already figured out. That year was very stretching.

I have to tell you though, the stretching made us taller. Our ultimate desire as a couple is to be pleasing unto God. It’s amazing when you see yourself in the future (in the Spirit) and you’re doing something that only God can make a way for. You don’t feel prepared for it or maybe you aren’t skilled enough yet, but you know that God has called you to it and anointed you for it. Then you’re even told by man that it’s not the direction you should go. Everything you dreamed about, planned for as a family, and then in an instant it’s crushed. That was the year we had. Picking up those pieces only God could puzzle together. Details aren’t shared on purpose because what we felt through all that was we needed to protect our integrity. We represent more than just ourselves; we represent God and where God was going to bring us. We never gave up on the dream that God has for us. We took the challenge and worked hard to learn and grow. We prayed and we poured our hearts before God and each other. We needed healing!

We have a vision of standing in front of crowds large or small and leading them to a place with the Lord in worship together that changes their lives forever. It has never been about fame for us but about impact. We feel called to have a big impact for God. We feel called to a unique prophetic direction in worship. We feel called to revival and to lead together. So, forward we march.

Leading up to this last year, surprisingly Kodi heard nothing. That may seem like an anticlimactic part to this story but this year has brought its own crescendo to the story. The whole world has changed. The corona virus made its presence known across the planet. I think that the words “uncharted territory” has stretched across two years. This is new for everyone. was New never promises good or bad. We are just responsible for how we act, our integrity, being willing to work hard to grow, getting revelation, and being molded by God.

We are called to trust Him. “You’re only truly happy when you walk in total integrity, walking in the light of God’s word. What joy overwhelms everyone who keeps the ways of God, those who seek him as their heart’s passion! They’ll never do what’s wrong but will always choose the paths of the Lord. God has prescribed the right way to live: obeying his laws with all our hearts. How I long for my life to bring you glory as I follow each and every one of your holy precepts! Then I’ll never be ashamed, for I take strength from all your commandments. I will give my thanks to you from a heart of love and truth. And every time I learn more of your righteous judgments, I will be faithful to all that your word reveals so don’t ever give up on me!” (Psalms‬ ‭119:1-8‬ ‭TPT‬‬)

God does not bring the pain. “He is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” (Psalms‬ ‭28:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬) We are to trust Him through this season or should I say uncharted territory. God plants those dreams and visions in your heart and knows they are there. He knows the amount of hairs on your head and surely knows the desires of your heart. He will be faithful, and He will never fail us! By the way my resolution was to do more of what I love. ❤️❤️❤️
